Athol Shop
Athol shop is a locally owned and operated Cafe/General Store/Bar and Barbecue restaurant serving breakfast, world-famous Hoagie sandwiches all day and epic low and slow barbecue dinners at night.
We also source as much produce from local suppliers, such as Welcome Rock Gardens in Garston and Wilderness Valley farms just out of Te Anau. We pour locally made beers on tap from Double Cone Brewery using Garston Hops. Our eggs are from the local Free Range Egg farm 500m from the shop. All our meats are slow-cooked onsite in Kamado Clay ovens.
Our Coffee is locally roasted by ROAR in Lumsden and served by our expert award-winning Barristers. Our baking is done in-house by ‘Nanny Goat’ using old-school Kiwi recipes.
We use Havoc Farms for our pork products and Queenstown‘s European bakery for our breads.
Our gift shop features locally made and NZ products.
Stu the local fisherman and guide has a product stand for the fly-fishing season and a small amount of groceries for the locals and seasonal travelers.
Open 7 days 9AM – 3PM and for Dinner Thursday to Sunday
